Welcome to Nyvareth. A world of wonder, magic and monsters.

Nyvareth is an original world developed through interconnected stories, visual design, and experimental formats. What began as isolated ideas, background for table top games and roleplay, has grown into a living archive—one that continues to expand with every new entry. This project explores storytelling across multiple forms: written works, original artwork, symbolic systems, and more. All shared through an in-world format thanks to the Scribes of Adevilios.
The world of Nyvareth is home to many wonderous and dangerous creatures. From the great Shao Fu Lions that roam the Bonelands of Yun Wa, to the mysterious Mantleflies raised by the witches of the Veiled Coven. Some of these entries may be incomplete, some may never be fully understood. Yet the Scribes are bound by oath and duty to not only record and catalog as many as we can, but to share that information openly. Here you may browse our records and learn more of the many animals, monsters and beasts of Nyvareth. Be sure to return often, our records, as our Archives, are ever expanding.

This massive bat stands roughly as tall as a small human with a wingspan of about the length of a canoe. Aside from its size, this bat is easily distinguishable by its soft rosy hues of pale pinks and dull reds, making it able to hide itself well within Palidora’s strange flora.Though the Puffcoat Gardener Bat sustains itself on a diet of fruits leaves and seeds, however, its food of choice is fungi. They dig at colonies that grow on the trees they call home, often scratching at the bark of their trees in order to facilitate new colonies forming in the grooves they make with their claws. Making it one of the few animals who, in a way, grows its own food. These bats are highly territorial. While not overtly aggressive, they will defend their homes if they ever feel threatened, often relying on their size and wingspan to intimidate predators. Because of their size, they don’t tend to fly often, unless it’s to find a mate or to make a new home. Once they find a tree they like, they will use it for years at a time without moving far from it.These bats can be seen active in most seasons other than winter, their most active season is during the summer. They actively scavenge during dusk hours, using the dimming sunlight to their backs to draw attention away from them. Their eyes are covered by a thin protective layer that also makes them shimmer in bright hues of blue. During the summer it’s the peak of mating seasons for these bats. The Summers illuminated evenings allow the Puffcoat Gardener Bat Bat to move about for extended periods of time with less threats present to them, additionally leading for more trees during the following seasons to have more colonies of mushrooms growing on them.

These snails make their homes in the acidic lakes of the Mire, resting off the shores of its corrosive waters, where very few predators even bother to hunt them.Should they find they find themselves in a situation where they need to protect themselves, their iron-like shells serve as a sturdy defense against most claws, fangs or beaks, as they reinforce the shell’s surfaces by taking occasional baths in lava rivers. Most notably, the mantled snail has a very unique defensive mechanisms. Above it’s eye appendages, they have another two similar appendages that serve as decoy eyeball with razor sharp quills. While these quills themselves don’t have poison, they are coated in vile necrotic secretions that the mantled snail emits every so often after feeding on the poisoned plants of the Mire.Additionally, if the snail feels threatened enough, they are able to launch these quills with extreme force by building up pressure along a membrane that lies just beneath their outer layers. The strength with which the mantled snail can launch these quills has been compared to force of a crossbow bolt, able to penetrate even metal armor. While they are not an aggressive species, any interaction is ill-advised.
The Archive's ever expanding library holds many tales. Some from our very own history, others gathered from myths, legends and tavern tales. It is our duty to catalog, detail and share these tales. No matter the cost!Below lies the catalog of preserved tales. Choose a cover to open its record—and step inside the story it holds.
Glad you could find your way here. Thank you for your time. My name is M.R. Morgrave.Though I build the Adevilios Archives as a group—for immersion purposes—I am one person. I'm an artist, a worldbuilder and, as of late, a writer! I've spent a long time building the world of Nyvareth and it's grown too big to keep to myself. So now, I'm sharing it where I can!My focus is primarily on fantasy and dark fantasy, with a profound interest in steampunk settings. I've written several short stories and have made art of many characters, all of which take place and are in the same world. Nyvareth.Currently I'm working on my first full length novel, and I hope it leads to more novels in the future. Until then, I share my short stories, my beasts and more! Just to give you a taste of what I'm about!
